Bengaluru or Gurgaon? The city debate often comes down to one question: which place offers a better life? But Manik Verma, who has lived in both, does not think the answer is that simple. His experience has made him believe that the two cities should not necessarily be treated as rivals.Verma began his career in Gurgaon before moving to Bengaluru. In a recent Instagram video, he spoke about the differences he noticed and said people who get the opportunity should experience both places before deciding what works for them.
What Manik Verma said
Verma shared that his opinion comes from having spent time in both cities. Rather than declaring one better, he pointed to the different experiences each place gave him.He said: “Brother, this debate between Bangalore versus Gurgaon is completely pointless. I mean, I believe that you should be living in both places at some point in your life. For example, I started my career in Gurgaon, but then I moved to Bangalore. So, the culture Gurgaon has, the party culture is crazy, and that’s great. You can party until 3 or 4 AM. But in Bangalore, the party culture is until 12 AM. However, the rest of the culture that you get to see is very amazing, especially as a North Indian, like Onam Sadhya and other festivals that happen. Because right now, it’s the time of Onam Sadhya, and I am missing that feeling of not being in Bangalore. So, I think you should, like, if you have opportunities, figure your life out in both cities, Gurgaon and Bangalore, and then decide for yourself.”
Gurgaon’s late-night culture
Verma highlighted Gurgaon’s party scene while describing his time there. According to him, people can party until 3 or 4 AM. This was one of the clearest differences he noticed between the two places.
Bengaluru’s cultural side
His memories of Bengaluru were also shaped by the festivals and traditions he experienced there.Verma specifically mentioned Onam Sadhya and said that, as a North Indian, he found the cultural experiences in Bengaluru very interesting. He also said he was missing the feeling of being there during the Onam Sadhya period.
His suggestion to people
Verma’s advice is to experience both cities when an opportunity comes up. Instead of forming an opinion based only on the Bengaluru vs Gurgaon discussion, he feels people can make a better choice after living in both. The video was posted with the caption, “What is your pick?”ID@undefined Caption not available.ID@undefined Caption not available.

The post received supportive comments from users who felt the two cities have their own appeal. One user wrote, “Both cities have their own vibe.”Another said, “This comparison actually makes sense.”A third commented, “This is so true,” while another wrote, “Yes, I agree with you.”Verma’s comments ultimately shift the Bengaluru vs Gurgaon conversation away from choosing a winner. His own experience suggests that the right choice depends on what a person values and enjoys in city life.Disclaimer: This article is based on information shared on social media.
