Rob Zombie’s former Connecticut home is back on the market, and it looks less like a traditional celebrity mansion than a piece of folded modern art. Known as the “Origami House,” the unusual Weston estate is listed for $6.5 million and combines dramatic architecture with secluded grounds, a flowing koi sanctuary and rooms designed to blur the line between indoor and outdoor living.Located at 10 Dragonwood Lane, the property covers approximately 15.57 acres and includes an 8,586-square-foot residence with four bedrooms and five bathrooms. The home was previously owned by musician and filmmaker Rob Zombie and his wife, Sheri Moon Zombie, who bought it through a trustee in 2022 for $6.5 million. They later sold it in 2024 for $4.95 million, according to local property records. Why it is called the Origami HouseThe home’s nickname comes from its angular, folded design. Rather than appearing as one conventional rectangular structure, the residence unfolds across the landscape through a series of geometric forms, dramatic rooflines and separate spaces joined into one expansive home. The design was created by Manhattan architecture firm Leroy Street Studio for Tony Award-winning film and theater director Des McAnuff. Its bold geometry gives the property a sculptural quality, while extensive glass walls and high ceilings bring natural light deep into the interior. From the outside, the house appears carefully integrated into its wooded setting. Inside, the sharp angles and changing ceiling heights create a series of distinct views and atmospheres. The result is a home that feels modern and highly designed without abandoning the privacy and calm of its natural surroundings. The Glass Great RoomThe visual centrepiece of the estate is the Glass Great Room, a dramatic, light-filled space inspired by I.M. Pei’s famous Louvre Pyramid in Paris. The room features three glass walls and opens onto an expansive terrace, giving residents a direct view of the property’s landscaped grounds and one of its cascading waterfalls, as per a report by CT Insider. The room is more than a showpiece. Its transparent walls make the surrounding landscape part of the interior experience, allowing daylight, trees and water to shape the atmosphere throughout the day. The structure also provides a natural entertaining space, linking the family room and outdoor terrace. The home’s wider layout follows the same philosophy. Large windows appear throughout the property, and skylights and elevated ceilings help connect the different sections of the house. Although the architecture is striking, it is designed around everyday functions such as cooking, relaxing, working and spending time with family.A koi sanctuary beneath the home

One of the estate’s most unusual features is its koi sanctuary, as per reports. The water system wraps around and beneath part of the residence and includes two waterfalls, a swimming channel and koi imported from Japan, according to the listing details.A glass viewing corridor allows people inside the home to see the water flowing beneath them. The pond also connects visually with the Glass Great Room and outdoor terrace, creating the impression that the house is suspended above a private aquatic garden, according to CT Insider. The koi sanctuary is not simply a decorative pond placed in the backyard. It is built into the identity of the home, shaping the way residents move through the property and experience its architecture. Water, glass and light appear repeatedly throughout the design, giving the estate an atmosphere closer to a private retreat than a standard suburban residence. What is insideThe main level includes a living room, music room, sitting room, open kitchen, family room, dining room and a secondary dining area. The kitchen is designed for entertaining and includes a large island, while a separate scullery kitchen and pantry help keep the main space uncluttered. The home’s music room is a fitting feature for a property once associated with Rob Zombie, although the residence itself is described more as a serene architectural retreat than a dark rock-star hideaway. Its broad windows, neutral spaces and connection to the surrounding landscape give it a bright and tranquil character. The lower level has its own entrance and includes a home office suite, administrative office, kitchenette and sitting area. There is also an art studio, an additional bedroom and a laundry room. The separate access could allow the lower level to function as a private work area, guest space or creative studio.Grounds designed for privacyThe home sits behind electronic gates and borders a protected nature preserve, offering a strong sense of seclusion. Its grounds include a lighted tennis court, mature fruit trees, open lawns and a meditation garden connected to the primary suite. The landscape is designed to offer both activity and quiet. Residents can use the tennis court for recreation, walk among the fruit trees or retreat to the meditation garden for a more private setting. The combination of woodland, rolling terrain and water features makes the property feel far removed from the ordinary suburban landscape. The sale includes four separately deeded parcels that together make up the 15.57-acre estate. That arrangement adds to the property’s scale and privacy while giving the new owner a significant amount of land surrounding the residence.A distinctive home in WestonThe Origami House stands out in Weston not only because of its celebrity connection but also because of its architecture. In a market filled with large traditional homes, the property offers something far less conventional: a geometric glass residence built around water, nature and carefully controlled views. The asking price is also notable within the local market. Redfin reported a median sale price of about $1.4 million for homes in Weston’s 06883 ZIP code during the three months ending in May 2026. The $6.5 million listing therefore places the Origami House at the high end of the area’s luxury market. The property is listed by Bill Martin of Douglas Elliman of Connecticut. For buyers looking for a conventional mansion, the home may be too unusual. For someone seeking a private architectural landmark with a koi sanctuary, waterfalls, tennis court and extensive grounds, it offers a rare combination.Rob Zombie’s former home may have a famous name attached to it, but the house’s real appeal is its design. With its folded forms, glass walls and water flowing beneath the living spaces, the Origami House is less a celebrity trophy property than a carefully constructed experience; one that turns everyday living into a walk through light, landscape and moving water.Inside Rob Zombie’s former $6.5 million Origami House with glass walls, waterfalls and a koi sanctuary
