SBI PO Prelims Result 2026: The SBI PO Prelims Result 2026 is anticipated in late August 2026 after the Probationary Officer preliminary examination was conducted on August 1–2, 2026. Candidates who clear the preliminary stage will move to the Mains examination scheduled for September 12, 2026.SBI has notified 1,500 vacancies for the 2026 recruitment cycle, including 1,446 regular posts and 54 backlog posts. The official SBI Careers portal, sbi.co.in/web/careers, will host result updates, notices and recruitment information.Result checking process and expected cut-offCandidates can check the result through the official website by opening the “Current Openings” section and selecting “Recruitment of Probationary Officers”. The merit list or marks can then be accessed using the details requested on the portal.The preliminary examination has no sectional cut-offs and selection at this stage is based on the overall cut-off. The expected General category cut-off is between 58.00 and 65.00 marks out of 100. Historical SBI PO Prelims cut-offs have generally ranged between 67 and 73 marks, although the 2026 cycle has recorded a substantial rise in applications.Recruitment schedule and Mains examinationThe remaining recruitment schedule places the Prelims result in late August or early September 2026, while the Mains admit card is expected in late August 2026. The Mains result is expected in September or October 2026, followed by the Psychometric Test and interviews in October or November 2026. The final merit list is scheduled for November or December 2026.The September 12 Mains examination will be conducted in two shifts. The morning shift will run from 08:30 AM to 12:00 PM and include the Objective and Descriptive Tests. The afternoon shift will run from 01:30 PM to 05:00 PM with the same test components.Applications, vacancies and final selectionA total of 12,14,076 candidates registered by the July 8, 2026 deadline, representing a 177% increase from the 6,57,850-plus applicants recorded in 2025. About 11 lakh candidates appeared for the Prelims, with approximately 15,000 candidates, or 10 times the vacancies, expected to qualify for the Mains.Vacancies include 588 UR, 390 OBC, 234 SC, 144 ST and 144 EWS seats. The final merit calculation gives the Mains 75% weightage and the Interview and Group Exercise 25%. The Group Exercise carries 20 marks and the Personal Interview 30 marks.Selected candidates will receive a revised starting CTC of Rs 21.97 lakh per annum in metro cities, including lease rental allowances, medical benefits and smart incentives.
