IIT JAM 2027 exam on February 14

The IIT JAM 2027 examination is scheduled to be held on February 14, 2027. The test will be conducted in two sessions on the same day.The forenoon session will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and will cover Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG) and Mathematics (MA).The afternoon session will take place from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm and will include Biotechnology (BT), Economics (EN), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH).Candidates can apply for the test papers of their choice while completing the application. Those opting for two papers must select papers scheduled in different sessions.

    Seven test papers on offer

JAM 2027 will be conducted for seven test papers:

    • Biotechnology
    • Chemistry
    • Economics
    • Geology
    • Mathematical Statistics
    • Mathematics
    • Physics

The choice of paper is an important part of the application process because JAM scores are linked to programme-specific admission requirements. Candidates should therefore check the eligibility and subject requirements of their preferred postgraduate courses before making their selections.

Who can appear for JAM 2027?

JAM is a national-level entrance examination used for admission to postgraduate programmes in science and related disciplines at participating IITs.Candidates who have completed their undergraduate degree, as well as those in the final year of their qualifying degree, are generally considered for the examination, subject to the specific eligibility conditions of the programme and institute. The final and detailed eligibility rules for JAM 2027 will be available in the information brochure scheduled to be released on August 22.

No international exam centres this year

JAM 2027 will be conducted at examination centres across India. IIT Kharagpur has clarified that no international examination centres will be available for the 2027 examination. The examination system will cover multiple IIT zones, including IISc Bengaluru, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee.Candidates will have to indicate their preferred examination cities while submitting the application form. They should make these choices carefully because the availability of a particular city will depend on the examination arrangements.

JAM score opens route to postgraduate study

The Joint Admission Test for Masters is one of the major national-level entrance examinations for students seeking postgraduate education in science and related disciplines.A JAM score can be used for admission to MSc and other postgraduate programmes, depending on the participating institute and the eligibility conditions of the course. The official JAM 2027 website currently highlights around 3,000 seats across participating IIT postgraduate programmes. However, clearing JAM alone does not guarantee admission. Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements of the specific programme and complete the subsequent admission process prescribed by the concerned institute.

JAM 2027 result on March 18

IIT Kharagpur has scheduled the declaration of the JAM 2027 result for March 18, 2027. The result and scorecard will be crucial for candidates seeking admission through the examination. With the registration window opening in September, aspirants now have a clear timeline to prepare for the examination. Candidates should keep track of the official JAM website for the brochure, application instructions and subsequent admission-related announcements.
