Director Nandini Reddy, who directed legendary actress Sowcar Janaki in her final film, Anni Manchi Sakunamule, paid tribute to the veteran actor after she passed away on August 21. The director shared pictures with Janaki from the film’s sets and remembered her as a kind, affectionate and professional artist.

Nandini Reddy took to Instagram to share a picture of herself, Malvika Nair and the team of the 2023 Telugu film with Sowcar Janaki on the sets. She captioned the post, “RIP Amma,” along with a folded hands emoji.
The Maa Inti Bangaaram director also shared pictures of Janaki dubbing for her role, along with a handwritten note that the veteran actor had given her.She wrote, “This grand old lady of Indian cinema was the most affectionate and most professional artist I have ever had the privilege of working with.”Nandini also recalled the time she spent with Janaki while working on the film and spoke about the veteran’s warm nature.She added, “She told us stories, cooked and fed us all while doing her work as immaculately as she spoke. Independent, outspoken, articulate and most benevolent….. amma we were blessed to share a small part of your journey…… farewell.”
