A new post circulating on X has put Candace Owens’ latest comments about Turning Point USA back under the spotlight. In the clip shown in the screenshot, Owens questions the direction of the organization while suggesting that another group could eventually take its place. Her remarks have since fueled fresh speculation over what she believes should come next and whether her criticism signals a larger political shift.
Candace Owens raises questions about Turning Point USA’s future
The focus of the clip is not simply Owens’ criticism of Turning Point USA. It is her suggestion that the organization may eventually be replaced.Owens appears to argue that TPUSA has moved away from what she considers its original purpose. She also links that criticism to ideas she says Charlie Kirk himself once expressed, creating a striking contrast between Kirk’s legacy and the organization’s present direction. She then points toward the possibility of a new organization emerging. Her full remarks, as heard in the clip, are:“Who even cares at this point? We get it. They are his enemies. Everyone knows what turning point USA is and what these people are. And unfortunately what’s going to happen now is an organization is going to rise, take its place. But, um, I do think that’s what Charlie would have wanted. I do.”Shecadds, “And that’s, uh, it’s a strange thing to think that, but what is not authentic and what it has become, what it is pushing it’s to push against the ideas that Charlie himself expressed, what he believes in the idea of partnering with the department of war to propagandize Americans, rather than winning the debate honestly because you told the truth and you had the better idea. Who cares? Who cares about what happens? Turning point USA.“The comment about another organization taking TPUSA’s place is the part that stands out most. Owens does not identify a specific replacement group in the quoted remarks, nor does she explain exactly when such an organization might emerge. That leaves plenty of room for interpretation.
Why Candace Owens’ TPUSA comments are drawing attention
Owens’ wording also makes the issue more personal and ideological. Rather than simply criticizing individual decisions, she challenges what she sees as a broader change in the organization’s identity. Her reference to Kirk is especially significant because it frames her argument around what she believes his political principles were. She contrasts that with what she describes as the organization’s current approach, particularly over how political arguments should be presented to Americans. The screenshot has added another layer to the discussion because the X post accompanying the clip interprets Owens’ comments as a possible sign of something larger. The post speculates that Owens and others could be laying the groundwork for a new political organization that might eventually challenge TPUSA.That claim, however, remains speculation. Owens does not explicitly say in the quoted passage that she is launching a new organization or that she has a replacement for TPUSA ready. What she does make clear is that she believes the future of Turning Point USA matters less than whether its work remains faithful to the ideas she associates with Kirk. For now, her words have reopened a larger debate over Kirk’s political legacy, TPUSA’s direction and what could emerge if critics of the organization succeed in building an alternative.
