Jr NTR and ‘KGF’ and ‘Salaar’ fame Prashanth Neel are working together for the upcoming action thriller ‘Dragon’. The film is set to be another grand and massy project from the director. The film already features Anil Kapoor in a key role and if the latest reports are to be believed two more big names from the Hindi film industry including Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are expected to be joining the team.
Alia Bhatt And Shahid Kapoor reportedly join ‘Dragon’
According to a report by Gulte, the ‘Shaandaar’ duo Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor have joined ‘Dragon’ in important roles. However, an official announcement from the makers is still awaited.
Alia Bhatt’s Telugu projects
Alia Bhatt made her Telugu debut in SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ which also featured JR NTR as the lead. If this development materializes it will mark her second Telugu film and another sharing screen with the ‘Devera’ actor. Interestingly, there is also buzz that Alia Bhatt could be part of Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD: Part 2’. However, that news is yet to receive an official confirmation.
Shahid Kapoor to play villain
Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor who was last seen in ‘Cocktail 2’ has earlier also been in the news for joining the Prashanth Neel directorial in a negative role. Back in April, a report by Telugu Chitraalu suggested that the ‘Kabir Singh’ star might be part of the project as he is in talks with the makers. This film will mark his official entry in the Telugu cinema if these reports come true.On the other hand, Jr NTR is currently recovering after undergoing shoulder surgery. Earlier, He thanked his fans, friends and family for their support and prayers. While Jr NTR is recovering, Prashanth Neel is continuing work on the film with other actors.
Teaser of ‘Dragon’
The teaser of ‘Dragon’ unveiled earlier introduces Jr NTR as Luger, a feared assassin. The story is set in 1967 and revolves around the Golden Triangle and the international opium trade.The teaser showed a dark world filled with crime, narcotics and political unrest. It also gave glimpses of Anil Kapoor, Rukmini Vasanth, Ashutosh Rana and other important characters.It is scheduled to release on June 11, 2027.
