Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn is set to nearly double his money on his North London home after agreeing terms with a prospective buyer. According to The Telegraph, the 77-year-old Your Party MP for Islington North has put his three-bedroom terraced house in Finsbury Park on the market for offers over £700,000, after initially listing the property for £800,000 earlier this year.Corbyn bought the property for £363,000 in 2007 and has lived there for nearly two decades. The publication reported that the property is now under offer, although the final sale price has not yet been disclosed and will only become public once contracts have been exchanged.

The North London property was initially listed in March by estate agent Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward with an asking price of £800,000. After failing to sell, the price was reduced to £780,000 in April and then to £750,000 in May before eventually being marketed for offers over £700,000.Corbyn had previously attempted to sell the same Islington property for almost £1 million in 2023, according to the report, but the sale did not go through.If the current deal is completed at around £700,000, Corbyn would have gained almost £337,000 on his original £363,000 purchase price – an increase of nearly 93 per cent.

The “charming and spacious” three-storey terraced house features three double bedrooms, two reception rooms and a 26ft rear garden.The property listing describes the house as being on a quiet street close to Seven Sisters and Holloway Road. It is also within walking distance of Finsbury Park, Underground and Overground stations, with transport links to the City and West End.

The property is in Council Tax Band E and would have attracted an annual bill of £2,577 this year, according to the property details reported by The Telegraph.Its Energy Performance Certificate gives the house a D rating. The property has gas heating and a gas boiler rather than a heat pump.
