Mian Asghar Ali’s mother told him she wanted a garden full of greenery around their home, and he has planted nearly 5700 plants at his place! Some acts of love don’t need grand gestures or big speeches. Sometimes, it is all about just actually listening when someone says what would make them happy, and then following through, even when it seems impossible at first. That’s exactly what happened in a small town in Punjab, Pakistan, where a son’s response to his mother’s simple wish slowly grew into something far bigger than either of them expected.

Meet Mian Asghar Ali, who turned his mother’s wish into a forest of over 5,700 trees

Mian Asghar Ali‘s mother told him she wanted a garden full of plants around their home. His first response wasn’t encouraging. According to BBC Urdu, he explained that there simply wasn’t enough room around the house to fit a garden, and turned down the idea. But his response did not turn out the way he expected. His mother didn’t argue or retaliate much. She just went quiet, visibly let down. It was that silence, more than anything, which stayed with him. According to BBC Urdu, Ali said, “When I looked [back] at my mother’s face, I felt a passion and urge.” That single moment changed his mind completely. This hit Ali hard, and he decided to make it happen, even without much space to work with. He began planting in 2016, starting at a lower level and gradually filling every available inch around the house with greenery. What started as a modest attempt to please his mother slowly turned into an obsession with growing and caring for plants.

Ali’s Marla house is now no less that na maini forest

Over roughly a decade, Ali’s six-marla home in Pattoki, Punjab, was transformed nealr into a miniature forest. He has now planted and personally maintained more than 5,700 trees on the property, which is an extraordinary number for how little land he had to begin with. He achieved this by using vertical space, courtyards, rooftops, and every unused corner around the home.None of this came free. Ali has spent nearly 14 lakh rupees on the project so far. That includes the cost of saplings, soil, tools, and the ongoing upkeep required to keep thousands of plants alive and healthy year-round.His motivation behind the story is applaudable; keeping his mother’s wish in mind, he transformed the home into a greenhouse
