    Prompt:

Convert this photograph into an authentic 1970s Indian family-album photo. Preserve the exact identity and facial characteristics of everyone in the original image. Use period-correct Indian clothing, hairstyles, jewellery, furniture, home interiors and decor. Add the characteristics of an old printed photograph, including warm faded tones, slight yellowing, fine 35mm film grain, soft edges, mild colour shifts and subtle dust and print imperfections. Keep all faces realistic and natural. The final image should feel like a genuine photograph discovered in an Indian family album from the 1970s, not a modern photograph with a digital retro filter.

A small trick to make the AI images look more real

If the first result looks too polished, ask the AI to make it less perfect.

Try adding words such as “slightly faded print”, “natural film imperfections”, “soft focus”, “uneven exposure”, “subtle grain” and “authentic 1970s Indian photography”.

That’s often what makes the difference between a picture that simply looks old and one that actually feels like it came from an old family album.
