    Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Ramayana’ event in Ramtek postponed amid Maharashtra drought, confirms MLA Ashish Jaiswal as farmers’ welfare takes priority

    A grand event planned in Maharashtra’s Ramtek to promote ‘Ramayana Part 1’ has been postponed amid the severe drought affecting the state. The programme, scheduled for October 11, 2026, was expected to feature Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and other members of the film’s cast. Maharashtra MLA Ashish Jaiswal confirmed the development, explaining that supporting farmers during the ongoing crisis must take priority.

    Why was the ‘Ramayana’ event in Ramtek postponed?

    The event was planned for the first day of Navratri and was expected to include the launch of a song from ‘Ramayana Part 1’, along with an interaction with the film’s team. Ramtek was chosen for its religious significance and association with Lord Ram, making it a notable venue for the programme.The postponement was confirmed by Jaiswal, who shared a video on Instagram informing people that the event would not take place as scheduled.

    What did MLA Ashish Jaiswal say about the postponement?

    In his Instagram caption, Ashish Jaiswal explained the purpose of the event and confirmed that the programme featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and the film’s cast had been postponed. He wrote, “We would like to inform all of you that the grand interaction program with the entire team of the film ‘Ramayana’, which was to be organised at Ramtek on 11th October 2026, has been postponed due to some unavoidable reasons. Actor Ranbir Kapoor, actress Sai Pallavi and the cast of the film were to participate in this program. The purpose of this program was to highlight the importance of the land of Ramtek, which was sanctified by the touch of the feet of Lord Shri Ramchandra.”

    Maharashtra drought takes priority as makers offer support to farmers

    The postponement comes amid a severe drought affecting Maharashtra. Jaiswal said that farmers’ welfare is the priority at present and that he had discussed the situation with the film’s team. According to the MLA, the team has expressed its willingness to extend support to farmers during this difficult period. He also thanked the social media influencers who had helped promote the event. There is no official update yet on whether the planned song will be released digitally or whether the event will be rescheduled. The makers have not announced an alternative date.

    ‘Ramayana’ reportedly to have two versions in the US

    Meanwhile, a Variety India report has suggested that ‘Ramayana’ could reach US audiences in two versions, with the English-language cut reportedly running 30 minutes shorter than the Hindi version. Listings on US theatre chain AMC’s website show the Hindi version with a runtime of three hours and 15 minutes, while the English-language version, titled ‘Ramayana: Rise of a Legend’, is listed at two hours and 45 minutes. Both versions are reportedly scheduled for November 5, 2026.If the listings are accurate, the English version will be half an hour shorter than the Hindi cut. The makers have not officially explained the difference in runtime or confirmed whether the two versions will feature different edits.

    ‘Ramayana Part 1’ cast and release plans

    Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Ramayana Part 1’ features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. Ravie Dubey is also part of the cast. The film is among the most anticipated releases of 2026. Reports have suggested a November 5 theatrical release, ahead of Diwali, which falls on November 8 this year. Paid previews are also reportedly being planned for November 4, although the makers’ official release schedule should be treated as definitive.
