    In a shocking update, a man has died after entering a tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster in England. The incident took place on Saturday, October 10 and prompted the evacuation of the wildlife attraction and a police investigation. The tiger attacked the man, who sustained serious injuries. The man was declared dead at the scene despite the efforts of emergency medical personnel.What happened at Yorkshire Wildlife Park?As per official statement issued by South Yorkshire Police, officers received reports of the incident at around 1:35 PM local time. The police confirmed that the man had entered the enclosure and was attacked by the tiger. His identity and the circumstances that led him to enter the restricted area had not been disclosed in the initial statements.The incident took place at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, a prominent wildlife attraction in South Yorkshire, England. Soon after the incident, emergency services were called. Later Yorkshire Ambulance Service also confirmed that two land ambulances, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and a doctor attended the scene.     While videos showing the encounter were widely circulated on social media, South Yorkshire Police urged the public not to share the footage calling it ‘distressing’.The authorities have not publicly established the man’s reasons for entering the enclosure.Eyewitnesses accountAs per eyewitnesses, the man climbed into the enclosure housing endangered Siberian tigers and allegedly attempted to interact with one of the animals. But within moments, the tiger attacked him.No tiger was harmedFollowing the incident, South Yorkshire Police also confirmed that the tiger was not injured or harmed and remained inside its enclosure. The force also confirmed that there was no wider risk to the public.The wildlife park was evacuated soon after the incident. Police said the deceased man’s family was informed. In its statement, the force expressed sympathy for the family.     Yorkshire Wildlife Park confirmed that a serious incident had occurred at its tiger enclosure on Saturday.     Amur tigers are native to the Russian Far East and parts of northeastern Asia. They are classified as Endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List, with habitat loss, poaching and depletion of prey among the threats affecting wild populations.Meanwhile, the fatal incident has renewed attention on the importance of maintaining barriers and following safety rules at wildlife attractions.
