Ship sinks in Strait of Hormuz, Iranian fishermen find floating iPhones and expensive perfumes

While searching for fish, a number of Iranian fishermen discovered a strange sight – objects such as iPhones, expensive perfume and other goods floating on the sea surface.According to videos published online, fishermen are finding all sorts of goods lying around the shipwreck and in the boxes that are also floating on the water. The videos also included a comment from one of the fishermen who described how, after the incident, local fishermen went to the locality of the shipwreck in their boats. This unusual discovery has quickly gone viral, but not everything is so fun and surprising for the local population. The reason for this is the ship that sank, which carries a significant amount of cargo and creates serious challenges for the security situation in the region.

What happened to the ship that hit the Iranians?

The Singapore-based GFS Pride cargo ship, which was carrying a large amount of cargo, caught fire on October 14 and sank.According to the reports, the accident happened because the unknown object hit the vessel. The fire that started as a result of the collision led to the wreck of the GFS Pride. Luckily, all 21 crew members of the vessel were able to leave the sinking ship.As a result of the fire, a part of the cargo of the ship went to the bottom of the sea. According to the videos, the fishermen managed to rescue a part of the cargo. While the objects found on the site of the wreck may seem interesting to the fisherman who found them, the situation is much more complicated than at first glance.

What are the reasons that caused the accident?

At the moment, it is still not known exactly what caused the accident.According to Iranian military authorities, the reason for the accident was a mine that the ship hit when sailing near a military zone. Apart from the mines, there is also a version that the ship was attacked by a missile or drone. However, officially, the accident was caused by an unknown object that had hit the ship, and the exact reason for it is still not known. The situation is further complicated by the fact that the waters of the strait are a very busy shipping route.Such accidents always resonate much louder than they seem. The reason for this is a large number of commercial vessels using the Strait of Hormuz, which is a strategic waterway connecting the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.

What does this situation say about the security environment?

While the video with images of boxes floating on the water may seem exciting and entertaining, it is actually a symbol of a much more significant problem. The situation with a sunken ship is an example of how dangerous the waters of the Strait of Hormuz are for commercial shipping. Such incidents are a serious threat to the safety of shipping, which disrupts the work of entire corporations and the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. In addition to the economic security of businesses involved in shipping, the incident now affects the security of the people who find themselves at the scene of a shipwreck. If the ship is in danger of exploding or capsizing, the chances of saving all the sailors are very low.In addition, videos of other ships damaged in attacks that have recently appeared online indicate that the situation with the safety of the strait is becoming more severe.
