Samyak Chakrabarty is a name in the media these days for all the right reasons. The young entrepreneur is the co-founder of the Nimaya Foundation, which he established with Navya Naveli Nanda in 2021. It’s an organisation which aims to prepare women from underrepresented communities. They are trying to help them develop skills so that women could improve their employment opportunities and social status.Who is Samyak Chakrabarty?Chakrabarty shot to fame after joining Nanda in a meeting with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati on October 9. It was a discussion which was centred on a proposal to expand the GenAI Ready Naari programme to young women across Assam, particularly those from tribal and underserved communities. The initiative reflects the larger question that has shaped his work; which is who gets to benefit from the opportunities created by technology? From media and marketing to social entrepreneurshipHe studied Bachelor of Mass Media and specialised in advertising, marketing and media, at Mumbai’s Jai Hind College. The young man, instead of choosing a conventional media/marketing profession went on to build initiatives aimed at engaging young people.Chakrabarty’s work has explored how people learn, develop workplace skills and participate in social change. His professional profile also notes recognition by Forbes Asia among its influential young entrepreneurs.Nimaya Foundation: Making the future of work more accessible

Nimaya Foundation was co-founded by Chakrabarty and Nanda in 2021. The organisation works to prepare women from backward communities to develop skills and opportunities to pursue meaningful careers. They believe that a woman’s ambitions should not be determined by her social or economic status. The programmes focus on preparing them for the future of work that can remain relevant in the coming time.As per foundation’s official website, Nimaya has trained over 10,000 women across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan. Its mission is to help women build confidence, develop relevant capabilities and access new career possibilities. Why artificial intelligence is an important part

The importance of such efforts becomes clearer as technology reshapes workplaces. While digital tools and artificial intelligence can create new opportunities, access to training, devices, guidance and professional networks remains uneven. Women who have had fewer opportunities to acquire these resources risk being excluded from emerging career paths.Nimaya’s approach attempts to address this gap.The GenAI Ready Naari programme places generative artificial intelligence at the centre of this effort. Instead of treating AI only as a technology, the programme focuses on aiding women learn how to use AI as a tool to find a better job.For Chakrabarty, whose work includes developing AI systems for nonprofit organisations, the initiative connects his technology-focused experience with the foundation’s broader social mission. His journey

Chakrabarty’s journey offers a different perspective on entrepreneurship. As artificial intelligence takes over across industries, preparing people for the transition is eqaully important. In this case, women who have had limited access to formal training, learning to use new tools could become one part of a bigger transition allowing them financial independence in the future.
