    Weather tomorrow: IMD forecasts heavy to very heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning in 23 states; winds up to 50 kmph likely

    NEW DELHI: The IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning across several states, with extremely heavy rain likely in Uttarakhand. Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh are also expected to see rain and thunderstorms.

    Delhi-NCR weather tomorrow

    The city’s forecast indicates a minimum temperature of 22°C and a maximum of 31°C, with no specific weather warning on September 27. Faridabad and Gurgaon could see thunderstorms and lightning as the wider Haryana-Delhi region remains under a heavy-rain warning.

    Uttar Pradesh weather tomorrow

    The IMD has forecast heavy rain in east Uttar Pradesh and very heavy rain in west Uttar Pradesh on September 27, along with thunderstorms and lightning. The weather warning is expected to ease from September 28.The state government has put district administrations on alert amid the forecast. District magistrates have been directed to maintain vigilance and monitor arrangements in areas facing the possibility of flash floods.Schools have been kept closed in districts under a red alert and facing the possibility of flash floods.

    Uttarakhand weather tomorrow

    Uttarakhand is likely to receive extremely heavy rainfall on September 27, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. The IMD has warned of heavy rain continuing on September 28.The rainfall could increase the risk of landslides and road blockages in mountainous areas, while rivers and streams could see rising water levels. Waterlogging is also possible in the plains.The state government has urged people to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary travel and regularly check weather updates.

    Himachal Pradesh weather tomorrow

    The IMD has forecast very heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning in Himachal Pradesh on September 27. Heavy rain is likely to continue on September 28.

    Punjab weather tomorrow

    Punjab is also likely to experience heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning on September 27. No warning is currently indicated for the state from September 28.

    Jharkhand weather tomorrow

    Jharkhand has been witnessing rainfall under the influence of the weather system moving across central and eastern India. Thunderstorms and lightning are likely in parts of the state on September 27, with conditions expected to improve from September 28.Authorities have advised people to stay away from open fields, trees and electric poles during lightning activity and to exercise caution while travelling through waterlogged areas.

    Rajasthan weather tomorrow

    East Rajasthan could see thunderstorms and lightning on September 27, while no warning has been issued for west Rajasthan.

    Jammu and Kashmir weather tomorrow

    There is no weather warning for Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on September 27. Thunderstorms and lightning are likely in the region from September 28.

    Odisha weather tomorrow

    According to the Met Centre, Bhubaneswar, Odisha is likely to see partly cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers on September 27. There is no active severe weather warning for the state.

    Andhra Pradesh weather tomorrow

    Andhra Pradesh is likely to see cloudy skies, light rain and strong surface winds in several districts through September 29.Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam are likely to receive rainfall from September 27 to 30. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph, with gusts up to 50 kmph, are likely during September 27-28. Strong surface winds are also expected over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema during this period.

    Northeast weather tomorrow

    Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is likely over Assam and Meghalaya on September 27-28, while Arunachal Pradesh is likely to receive widespread rain on September 28.Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are also likely to see fairly widespread to widespread rainfall on September 27.Arunachal Pradesh could see isolated to scattered rainfall on September 27 and September 29-30. Assam and Meghalaya are likely to receive isolated to scattered rain on September 29-30, while Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura could see similar conditions through September 30.

    West Bengal weather tomorrow

    A depression over interior Odisha and an active monsoon have brought very heavy rain to parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Darjeeling has witnessed landslides, while the IMD has forecast further rain in the district.Similar weather conditions are likely in Kalimpong and Jalpaiguri, with the Met department warning of possible landslides in Darjeeling and Kalimpong.

    Maharashtra and Gujarat weather

    Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada are likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall during the next few days.

    South India weather tomorrow

    Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall from September 27 to 30.Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep are also likely to receive rain during the same period, while Coastal Karnataka could see rainfall from September 27 to 29.North Interior Karnataka and Telangana are likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall from September 27 to 30. Similar conditions are expected in South Interior Karnataka on September 27-28.Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph, with gusts up to 50 kmph, are likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during September 27-28 and Rayalaseema during September 27-28.

    IMD’s latest forecast

    The IMD’s latest forecast suggests that the intense weather activity will ease across several northern states after September 27. Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are likely to continue seeing rain on September 28, while warnings for Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR and Punjab are expected to ease.
