NEW DELHI: Several parts of north and central India are likely to receive rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning on Saturday, with the India Meteorological Department warning of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Heavy rain warning in north India
Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is likely over Uttarakhand on September 26-28, Himachal Pradesh on September 27-28 and Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad on September 28-30.West Uttar Pradesh is likely to receive fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning on September 26, while East Uttar Pradesh is likely to see similar conditions on September 26.Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Himachal Pradesh on September 26 and 28, Uttarakhand on September 28, West Uttar Pradesh on September 26-27 and East Uttar Pradesh on September 27.Isolated very heavy rainfall is likely over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on September 27, while isolated extremely heavy rainfall is forecast over Uttarakhand on September 26.

West Madhya Pradesh is likely to receive fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning on September 26, while East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh are likely to experience similar conditions during September 26-28.Isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is likely over West Madhya Pradesh during September 27-30, East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha during September 28-30 and Chhattisgarh during September 29-30.Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over West Madhya Pradesh on September 27, East Madhya Pradesh on September 27 and Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha on September 26. Rain likely over west coast
Isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over Gujarat region, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada during the next few days.Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph, with gusts up to 60 kmph, are likely over Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada on September 26, according to IMD.Strong surface winds are also likely over Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada on September 26.

Rough seas along Odisha, Andhra coasts
Squally winds reaching 45-55 kmph and gusting to 65 kmph are likely over parts of the Bay of Bengal and along and off the south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh and Yanam coasts before gradually decreasing.Sea conditions are likely to remain very rough to rough over the westcentral and northwest Bay of Bengal and along and off the north Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal coasts before improving gradually.Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the affected parts of the Bay of Bengal and along and off the Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal coasts until conditions improve.
