From Birkin to Rolex: Kangana Ranaut’s Eri silk saree Parliament look is turning heads

Rainy days in Delhi usually mean wet roads, crowded corridors and a sea of black umbrellas. Kangana Ranaut, however, arrived at Parliament looking like she’d made the monsoon part of the outfit. She wore a pale blue Eri silk saree and carried a bright printed umbrella, but it was her accessories that really caught attention. Along with the traditional saree, Kangana carried a black Hermès Birkin reportedly worth around ₹35 lakh and wore a Rolex Lady-Datejust estimated at ₹21 lakh.So yes, there was quite a lot going on in one look. The umbrella was probably the most unexpected part of it. From Good Earth, the aqua-toned umbrella costs ₹6,100 and features tropical-style prints, a chevron pattern underneath and a wooden handle.Against the old architecture of Parliament and the rainy Delhi backdrop, it stood out almost as much as the saree. And unlike most umbrellas that are usually treated as something you grab on the way out, this one actually looked like it had been chosen to go with the outfit.

The Saree Kept Things Simple

Kangana’s pale blue Eri silk saree came from the Northeast and had a subtle woven texture with a delicate border. She paired it with a simple white, short-sleeved blouse and kept the drape fairly fuss-free. There was no heavy styling competing with the fabric. The pallu rested over her shoulder while the saree was neatly gathered at the waist. It’s also very much in line with the kind of clothes Kangana has often chosen for her Parliament appearances.Instead of sticking to predictable formalwear, she has frequently turned to Indian textiles, handlooms and sarees. Regional fabrics have become a noticeable part of her Parliament wardrobe. But the accessories tell a completely different story.

A ₹35 Lakh Birkin And ₹21 Lakh Rolex

Kangana carried a black Hermès Birkin in Togo leather, reportedly valued at around ₹35 lakh. Its structured shape and gold hardware added a sharp contrast to the soft blue saree. Then came the watch – a Rolex Lady-Datejust with a brown dial, estimated to cost around ₹21 lakh.Together, the Birkin and Rolex alone are worth roughly ₹56 lakh.Add the ₹6,100 umbrella and the Eri silk saree, and the look becomes an interesting mix of Indian craftsmanship and serious luxury. That’s probably what makes Kangana’s Parliament style stand out. The saree keeps the look rooted in Indian fashion, while the Birkin and Rolex bring in a very different kind of polish. And somehow, on a rainy morning in Delhi, the combination didn’t look completely out of place. It looked very Kangana.
