Indonesia’s Flores Island was the site of a mangrove reforestation project launched in 2013, with native seedlings planted along the coast between Ende and Sikka. Ten years later, researchers surveyed restored areas at Bangkoor, Kolisia and Talibura to assess plant and animal diversity, carbon sequestration and energy storage. The study recorded 10 mangrove species and 10 fauna species across the three sites. Kolisia had the highest mangrove species richness, while Talibura had the highest fauna species richness. In a recent update, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has introduced some major changes to India’s passport rules. A new validity framework for passports has been introduced for children below 15 years of age. Under the Passports (Amendment) Rules, 2026, an ordinary 36-page passport issued to a child below 15 will be valid for five years from the date of issue or until the child turns 18, whichever comes earlier.
