    KEA starts Karnataka DCET 2026 Round 1 option entry today with counselling timeline and cut-off trends

    Karnataka DCET 2026: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has commenced the Round 1 option entry process for Karnataka Diploma Common Entrance Test (DCET) 2026 counselling today, July 21, 2026, from 11.00 am. Eligible diploma graduates and working professionals can submit their preferred colleges and courses through the official KEA counselling portal.The option entry process marks the next stage of the lateral entry admission process for engineering and architecture programmes. Candidates are advised to review the official seat matrix, released on July 20, before filling their preferences. KEA permits candidates to enter multiple choices, with seat allotment based on the order of preferences submitted during counselling.Karnataka DCET 2026: Counselling scheduleCandidates should note the key counselling events and complete each stage within the prescribed timeline.

    Option entry guidelinesCandidates must log in using their DCET credentials, verify the seat matrix and arrange colleges and branches according to their actual preference. The mock allotment result, scheduled for July 24, will allow candidates to review their probable allotment and modify their options before the final seat allotment.• Direct link to visit the offical websiteFollowing Round 1 allotment, candidates will be required to choose from four options—accept and freeze the allotted seat, accept while remaining eligible for an upgrade, reject the seat while continuing in counselling, or exit the counselling process.Karnataka DCET 2026: Expected cut-off trendsThe official 2026 cut-offs will be released after the completion of seat allotment. However, previous admission trends may help candidates plan their preferences.

    Key statistics for DCET 2026According to available examination data, 20,046 candidates appeared for Karnataka DCET 2026. Only 247 candidates, representing about 1.18 per cent of test takers, secured 80 marks or above out of 100. DCET ranks are prepared using a 50:50 weightage formula, combining the entrance examination score with the aggregate marks obtained in the fifth and sixth semesters of the diploma programme. Lateral entry admissions are offered against 10 per cent of the approved intake in AICTE-approved engineering institutions.
