For the occasion, Rakul was styled by Ami Patel in a single-tone golden yellow checkered Kanjivaram saree from homegrown label Kankatala. The silk saree’s body is done up in gold and silver zari checks that lend it a subtle shimmer, while a self gold zari brocade border featuring peacock and elephant motifs set within floral vines runs through the drape. The pallu mirrors the same intricate detailing, keeping the design cohesive from end to end. It was paired with a coordinated plain blouse finished with zari borders.The saree, sourced from Kankatala’s collection, is priced at Rs 49,144.Rakul completed the look with jewellery from Shri Paramani Jewels, opting for a coordinated set of earrings, a necklace, a waist belt, bangles and an ear chain. The Pratham Sankalp event marked the first time the entire cast of Ramayana came together publicly, ahead of the film’s global trailer release. The gathering in Delhi brought together lead actors Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, Arun Govil and Ravie Dubey, along with director Nitesh Tiwari, producer Namit Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh, among others from the film’s extended cast and creative team.Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Ramayana’ is produced by Namit Malhotra. Planned as a two-part cinematic adaptation of the ancient epic, the film traces Rama’s journey from prince of Ayodhya through his years in exile to his battle against Ravana. The cast features Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, with music composed by Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman.The film’s official trailer is set to premiere globally on July 24, 2026, while ‘Ramayana: Part 1’ is scheduled for a theatrical release during Diwali 2026, with the second part expected to follow during Diwali 2027.
