    CWG 2026 Day 10 medal table: India soar to fourth place after sensational 16-medal blitz in Glasgow
    A record 16-medal haul powers India into fourth place with one day left at CWG 2026.

    India produced its biggest day of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games on Saturday, collecting a remarkable 16 medals to surge into fourth place in the overall standings with one day of competition remaining.A dominant display in the boxing ring, where Indian pugilists won seven gold and three silver medals, formed the backbone of the country’s medal rush. The success extended beyond boxing as India added medals in para athletics, athletics and judo to take its overall tally to 39 medals, comprising 13 gold, 17 silver and nine bronze.India now trails only Australia, England and Canada in the medal standings. Australia continues to dominate the Games with 153 medals (62 gold, 40 silver and 51 bronze), while England sits second with 100 medals (26 gold, 40 silver and 34 bronze). Canada occupies third place with 58 medals, including 18 gold, 19 silver and 21 bronze.

    Boxers deliver historic seven-gold haul

    Indian boxing enjoyed one of its finest days in Commonwealth Games history after all 10 finalists stepped into the ring, returning with seven gold medals and three silver medals.

    1. Sakshi Chaudhary: Gold (Women’s 51kg), defeated England’s Ruby White.
    2. Preeti Pawar: Gold (Women’s 54kg), defeated Canada’s Scarlett Savannah Delgado.
    3. Jaismine Lamboria: Gold (Women’s 57kg), defeated Northern Ireland’s Michaela Walsh.
    4. Priya Ghanghas: Gold (Women’s 60kg), defeated Canada’s Marie-Bathoul Al-Ahmadieh.
    5. Arundhati Choudhary: Gold (Women’s 70kg), defeated England’s Chantelle Reid.
    6. Sachin Siwach: Gold (Men’s 60kg), defeated Namibia’s Tryagain Morning Ndevelo.
    7. Ankush Panghal: Gold (Men’s 80kg), defeated England’s Dimeji Shittu.
    8. Lovlina Borgohain: Silver (Women’s 75kg), lost to Australia’s Emma Sue Greentree.
    9. Jadumani Singh: Silver (Men’s 55kg), lost to Australia’s Jye Dixon.
    10. Narender Berwal: Silver (Men’s 90+kg), lost to England’s Damar Thomas.

    The seven golds and three silvers capped a flawless campaign for the Indian contingent, with every boxer who reached Friday’s semi-finals progressing to a medal-winning finish.

    Double podium for India in para athletics

    ndia celebrated a one-two finish in the men’s F57 shot put as Soman Rana and Shubham Juyal occupied the top two places.Rana clinched gold with a season-best effort of 13.40 metres, finishing 0.12 metres ahead of compatriot Juyal, whose own season-best throw of 13.28 metres earned silver. Cameroon’s Cedric Azamdzi completed the podium with a best mark of 12.57 metres.The result gave India another memorable double podium during an outstanding day across multiple disciplines.

    Triple jump duo delivers another double podium

    India added two more athletics medals in the men’s triple jump.Praveen Chithravel secured silver with a best leap of 16.58 metres, finishing just 0.14 metres behind Jamaica’s Jordan Scott, who claimed gold with 16.72 metres.Selva Prabhu Thirumaran completed India’s double podium by winning bronze with a jump of 16.52 metres, ensuring two Indians stood alongside Scott on the medal podium.

    Gulveer Singh adds historic distance-running medal

    Gulveer Singh produced one of India’s standout performances on the track by winning bronze in the men’s 5,000 metres.He crossed the line in 13:24.95, finishing just 0.04 seconds ahead of Kenya’s Cornelius Kemboi in fourth after an intense battle over the closing metres.Australia’s Ky Robinson claimed gold, while Kenya’s Michael Kiplangat Kipsang took silver.The podium finish marked another landmark achievement for Indian athletics and added to Gulveer’s successful Commonwealth Games campaign.

    Unnati Sharma claims judo bronze

    India’s medal tally also received a boost in judo through Unnati Sharma.Competing in the women’s -63kg bronze-medal bout, Sharma defeated South Africa’s Skye Knoester by Ippon in just one minute and seven seconds after executing a decisive leg hook that ended the contest immediately.The victory ensured India finished another successful day with medals spread across boxing, para athletics, athletics and judo.

    India ends Day 10 with momentum

    Saturday’s remarkable haul lifted India’s overall tally to 39 medals —13 gold, 17 silver and nine bronze — moving the country into fourth place in the standings entering the final day of competition.While boxing accounted for 10 medals, India also celebrated podium finishes in para athletics, athletics and judo, underlining one of the country’s most successful all-round performances of the Games and providing strong momentum heading into the concluding day in Glasgow.
