Swimming pool full, taps dry and 5-6 hour power cuts: Greater Noida woman shares ‘luxury’ high-rise experience

The idea of paying crores for a home usually comes with certain expectations. Better facilities, a comfortable lifestyle, and fewer everyday hassles are often part of the appeal. But a video shared by a Greater Noida resident has started a different conversation online after she questioned whether expensive homes always offer the kind of living experience people expect from them. The woman, identified as Sweety, shared a video from her high-rise home and spoke about her experience of living in society. What begins with a look at the property’s view and amenities soon turns into a discussion about some of the basic issues she says her family has been dealing with. Her comments have also led social media users to share their own views about life in high-rise societies.

She starts with the view from her 19th-floor home

Sweety begins the video by showing the view from her home and the swimming pool in the society. She also talks about the price of the apartments there.“Friends, let me show you something really interesting. Look at this; this is my society, we live on the 19th floor. Look at this – what a view, right? Look at how amazing the swimming pool is, and look at the luxury – here, every flat costs crores, meaning 2 BHKs or 3 BHKs cost crores, not lakhs.”She then shifts attention to what she calls the reality behind the appearance of luxury.

    The water situation she describes

ID@undefined Caption not available.ID@undefined Caption not available.Sweety said one of the biggest problems is related to water availability.“You know the saying, ‘Water, water everywhere, but not a single drop to drink’? That’s the reality here,” she said.According to her, residents sometimes have no water in their taps and have to keep water in vessels whenever it is available. She also claimed that a water tanker comes every day.“That’s the reality of flats worth crores – ground level has no water. A water tanker arrives every day,” she said. She further spoke about the drinking water used by her family.“And honestly, we are living such a luxurious life that we drink Bisleri water at home.”

She also talks about electricity problems

Water was not the only concern mentioned in the video.Sweety claimed that electricity cuts can last for several hours. She also spoke about fluctuations in voltage and said these had affected appliances in her home.“And listen, there is no electricity here for 5 to 6 hours, and the voltage fluctuates so much that our RO has broken down twice in a month, and the microwave blew up this morning, brother!” she said.

Why her family is considering moving

Sweety also spoke about the homes her family had owned earlier. She said they had sold their builder flat in Vaishali as well as their village home. She added that the experience of living in the high-rise had now made them consider moving back to a builder flat. Her comments suggest that the problems she describes have affected the way her family is looking at their current home.

Her caption sums up the complaint

The caption accompanying the video focused on the contrast between the society’s amenities and the water issue she described.“There’s no water in the taps, but the swimming pool is completely full.”The line became another point of discussion among people reacting to the video.

Social media users join the conversation

Several users responded to Sweety’s post, with some saying they agreed with her experience. One person wrote, “It’s a pigeon coop, not a luxury home.”Another commented, “Really true mam.”A third user shared a longer response: “This is the reality of most high-rise societies in NCR. I’ve lived here for about 12 years and still do, but I’ve never chosen to live in these so-called ‘luxury societies’. The living conditions are often far worse than the luxury they advertise.”Another user simply added, “I agree with you.”Disclaimer: The information in this article is based on the details shared in the social media post.
