Marvel Studios’ ‘Avengers: Endgame’ is returning to theatres this September with new footage, making the wait all the more exciting.
‘Avengers: Endgame Encore ‘ runtime and release date
Titled ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’, the film will reportedly run for 3 hours and 5 minutes, making the upcoming theatrical re-release four minutes longer than the original 2019 cut of ‘Avengers: Endgame’. The new runtime, equivalent to 185 minutes, has been listed by major cinema chains, including AMC, ahead of the film’s return to theatres on September 25, 2026.The extended runtime comes as Marvel prepares to bring the epic conclusion to its Infinity Saga back to cinemas ahead of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, which is scheduled to arrive in theatres on December 18, 2026.
What is new in ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’?
Unlike a standard theatrical re-release, ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’ will feature additional material, to connect the film more closely to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.Joe Russo, who directed the film with Anthony Russo, previously described the decision to re-release the film with new footage as an important way of connecting the two stories.

‘Endgame’ came to a close with the deaths of Tony Stark aka Iron Man and Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow. It also saw Steve Rogers go back in time to return the Infinity Stones and spend a lifetime, marrying and raising a family with Peggy Carter. He eventually returns as an elderly man and passes on his shield to Sam Wilson.According to online buzz, the film will likely feature a scene with Steve getting a visit from Loki, while living his life in the past. The alleged leaked footage is not confirmed to be from ‘Endgame Encore’ or from ‘Doomsday’.
