A report on Mid-Day states that film could set fans on a nostalgic trip as the film will likely mark their reunion nearly two decades after sharing screen space in ‘Laaga Chunari Mein Daag’ (2007).While initial reports indicated that Rani had been cast in an extended cameo as the mother of Suhana Khan‘s character, the new report sugests that she is in discussions to reunite with Bachchan and the two, could be paired opposite each other. With Abhishek reportedly playing the antagonist, it remains to be seen how their alleged pairing plays out on the big screen.According to mid-day, the actress’ casting in the film also marks her reunion with Shah Rukh after 20 years, following their last collaboration in ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ (2006).The film also stars Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff in key roles, alongside a huge ensemble cast.Shah Rukh Khan, in an #AskSRK session on X took on questions about his upcoming projects and co-stars. During the chat, one fan expressed excitement about seeing the superstar reunite with Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji. The fan further asked him to name his favourite film with Rani. Responding to the fan, Shah Rukh wrote, “I love Rani with or without films.”Another fan asked Khan about his reunion with Deepika Padukone in the same film and said, “So excited to see you and DP together again.” To this, Shah Rukh responded, “Me too haha.”Despite the buzz and chatter around the casting, there has been no official confirmation from the makers regarding Rani being a part of ‘King’.
