Jolie is set to direct her former ‘Eternals’ co-star in the film ‘Without Blood’, which also stars Demian Bichir.According to reports, the movie that marks Jolie’s fifth directorial venture, is based on Alessandro Baricco’s internationally bestselling novel of the same name. ‘Without Blood’ is described as a fable set in the aftermath of an unidentified conflict. The story centres on events at a farmhouse deep in the Italian countryside and explores themes of trauma, loss, injustice and the search for what comes after them.Jolie has written the screenplay and is also co-producing the film. Speaking about the project, she said, “I’m honoured to be here in Italy to bring this very special material to film, and to have been entrusted by Alessandro Baricco with the adaptation of his book – with its unique poetry and emotion and way of looking at war, and the questions it poses about what we search for after trauma or loss or injustice.”
