A truck carrying vanaspati ghee overturned in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad, spilling a large quantity of its cargo onto the road. Soon after the accident, people from the area gathered at the spot, with some seen collecting the spilled ghee in buckets and other containers. The overturned truck was loaded with vanaspati Dalda ghee. Following the accident, the ghee spilled out of the vehicle and spread across the road. The sight quickly drew the attention of people nearby. In the viral videos, a crowd gathered around the overturned truck, and some people can be seen using containers to collect the ghee that had spilled onto the road. Visuals from the spot show people approaching the spilled cargo with buckets and other containers as the ghee lay spread across the road.
Police arrive to clear the road
After receiving information about the accident, police reached the location and took steps to clear the area. Police removed people who had gathered around the spilled ghee and then arranged for the road to be cleaned. The move was aimed at preventing the spill and crowd from affecting traffic movement. Moradabad SP City Ranvijay Singh said the truck was carrying vanaspati Dalda ghee from Haryana to a factory in Rudrapur. The driver turned the tanker while trying to avoid a person crossing the road on the Ramganga bridge in Moradabad. During this, the tanker went out of control, broke through the divider, crossed to the other side and overturned. Police used a crane to set the tanker upright.SP City said police reached the spot after receiving information about the accident, removed the people who had gathered there and had the spilled ghee cleared from the road. Despite the truck overturning and its cargo spilling onto the road, no person was injured in the incident, according to the police.
