Indian cricketer Deepak Chahar has recently shared a video after three of his bats were allegedly stolen from a practice ground. The three bats, which Chahar described as expensive player-edition bats, were worth around Rs 1.5 lakh in total, according to him. Chahar spoke about the incident in an Instagram video and asked viewers what he should do next. In the video, Chahar said the bats were stolen the previous evening and suggested that the person who took them might not know their actual value. “Yesterday evening, 3 bats were stolen from here. What do you think I should do? They were very good bats. The one who stole them doesn’t even know how expensive they were,” Chahar said. He then explained the value of the three bats, saying, “3 bats for 1.5 lakhs.”Chahar also wondered what the thief might do with the bats. “He will either sell them or play tennis ball cricket with them. He should have asked me for money, I would have given him,” he said.
“Should I complain to the police, go to Yogi ji or Modi ji?”
Rather than immediately deciding what to do, Chahar jokingly listed the options he had in mind. “I have some options now. Either I complain to the police, or I go to Yogi ji (CM of Uttar Pradesh), or I go to Modi ji. Or I directly request God,” he said in the video. “Whatever is stolen, just give me my bat. I will give him money,” he added.He also suggested another option involving the bat brand. “Or I request the bat’s brand and ask for 2-3 more bats. What do you think I should do?” he added. Chahar shared the video himself after the three bats went missing during practice. He appeared both surprised and upset about the incident while speaking about the value of the bats and appealing for their return. Chahar has represented India in 13 ODIs and 25 T20 internationals, taking 16 and 31 wickets respectively. His last ODI appearance came in December 2022, while his last T20I was in December 2023.
