Bengaluru’s traffic takes a holiday: Google Maps shows just 21 minutes for 13 km from Silk Board to Marathahalli; commuter hilariously jokes that he can’t blame traffic for being late anymore

Bengaluru is well known for its notorious traffic, which tests anybody’s patience. Commuters often cite these traffic jams as spending immensely long hours in the vehicle lanes on the road.Regular commuters are well-versed with traffic woes, but recently during the festive season, the roads have seen a visible dip in traffic as many people have moved back to their hometowns to celebrate the festive season.A recent Instagram post has people smiling as he explained how two of Bengaluru’s best-known traffic hotspots would take only 21 minutes to cover 13 kmBengaluru commuter shares how commute between Silk Board and Marathahalli took only 21 minutes to cover 13 kmsA man shared on Instagram that a two-wheeler ride from Silk Board to Marathahalli, two of Bengaluru’s best-known traffic hotspots, would take only 21 minutes to cover 13 km.The short ride made him joke that employees could no longer blame traffic for being late. The text on his Google Maps screenshot read, “Guys, please come back, I can’t use traffic as an excuse for showing up at 12 for a 9 AM shift.”He posted the screenshot with the caption, “Bangalore is not Bangaloring, and the traffic is not trafficking,” teasing the city for its reputation for frustrating jams.Social media users weigh inThe post quickly got attention online, and many people reacted with sarcasm and surprise. One user said, “I couldn’t believe I have been reaching office in 35 min…usually it takes me 2 hrs…everytime during festivals I get to experience my old Bangalore.” Another wrote, “Reached office in 20 mins 10km… N then came back collecting my gift in 20 mins. .. no one in office.”A third person wrote, “I pray to God, let it be like this all the time.” Another user wrote, “No no no…. Take more leave…. Enjoy your vacation…. Or work from where ever you are for some more time.”Another user shared a prior experience, “Banglore is Bangloring, caption is wrong. When I was like 5 we could reach Whitefield from anywhere in max 45 min at any time this is real bengaluru. Traffic ruined it.”Another wrote, “Just say Cab nahi mil rahi thi. And add ‘Even cab drivers are gone because of long weekend.’ It works”Someone else joked, “Just hang in there for few more days , we will be back soon.”Another person said, “So infrastructure is actually not the problem… current infrastructure which is unable to handle the current population of our city Bangalore is the problem.”
