Blake Lively faces new deposition request in legal battle for USD 800,000 in attorney fees from Justin Baldoni
Blake Lively is now facing new deposition requests from Jed Wallace, a PR firm consultant who worked closely with Justin Baldoni during their legal battle. He is stating in new court documents that since Lively is expecting legal fees from him, he has the right to ask whether her allegations against him and his firm were filed out of pure malice or not. The legal fight between Blake Lively and her former co-star Justin Baldoni wages on. According to recent updates, before any fees are awarded to the ‘Green Lantern’ actress, a PR consultant based in Texas wishes to question her about certain matters related to the case. A new case has been filed with the court regarding the star’s request for USD 800,000 in legal fees. Earlier this year, Lively and Baldoni settled their legal dispute out of court just before the first official hearing. While the court’s final verdict directed Baldoni’s PR consultant, Jed Wallace, to pay Lively’s legal fees, there seem to be some hiccups before the money is officially transferred to her.

Blake Lively faces new legal challenges over a USD 800,000 legal bid

According to TMZ, Jed Wallace, the PR consultant who extensively worked with Baldoni during his legal battle with Lively, has filed a new case. In the papers filed in court by Wallace, he has issued a request to a Texas judge to force the ‘The Town’ actress to sit for a deposition. He wishes her to answer certain questions under oath regarding the USD 800,000 in legal fees she requested.Reportedly, Wallace wishes to ask whether her sexual harassment allegations involving him and his company were made with malice. A statement from the report read, “He (Jed Wallace) says he has a right to do so because it’s a relevant issue when it comes to hitting him with the tab for her legal bills. Wallace claims Blake has not followed the legal process and was a no-show to her deposition.”

Blake Lively’s legal counsel strongly rejects the argument

An official statement from Lively’s legal representatives mentioned that the argument presented by Wallace is baseless. The statement further read, “Jed Wallace already took Ms. Lively’s deposition. His case was dismissed. Ms. Lively won. This is yet another desperate, meritless attempt by Wallace to go after Ms. Lively out of fear that he may face the same kind of fee award that Ms. Lively won from Justin Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios in New York.“

A background into Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s case

Last month, a judge had officially granted Lively her request for the clearance of her attorney fees; however, her request for punitive damages had been refused. Wallace had also formerly filed a case against the star for defamation in Texas. However, at the time, the court had found that they did not have any official jurisdiction over her. The case was dismissed by the court because of this.In her case against Baldoni, Lively had also named Wallace and his company for contributing to the alleged smear campaign that was run against her. A federal judge had then dismissed Lively’s claims against Wallace because they found that they had no jurisdiction in New York, since Wallace operates from Texas.Disclaimer: The information in this report is based on a legal hearing as reported by a third-party source. The details provided represent allegations made by the parties involved and are not proven facts. The case is ongoing, and a final verdict has not been reached. The publication does not claim that the allegations are true.
